Real Madrid will play host to Sevilla at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium in La Liga on Sunday.
Following their elimination in the semifinal stage of the Champions League in midweek, Real Madrid’s only quest for the remainder of this season will be to win the La Liga title.
They’re second on the log, just a point behind Atletico Madrid and tied on points with third-placed Barcelona. But victory over Sevilla on Sunday could take them to the top of the table.
Sevilla were well in the title race, but a 1–0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao last weekend dealt their title hopes a huge blow. The defeat also ended their fine nine-game unbeaten run.
Madrid, meanwhile, toughed out a 2–0 win against Osasuna in the league last weekend, but fell to a 2–0 defeat away at Stamford Bridge in England in the Champions League in midweek.
Can they bounce back and remain on course in the La Liga title race?
Dani Carvajal, Rafael Varane, and Lucas will miss the game for Madrid due to injury, while Sevilla only have Gomez Sergi on the sidelines.
Real Madrid to win
Madrid have beaten Sevilla in each of their last four meetings, including a 1–0 defeat in Sevilla in their first league meeting this season back in December.
You can back the capital club to bounce back nicely and continue their dominance over their visitors.
