Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will square off at the Camp Nou in a crucial La Liga clash on Saturday.
Given their respective positions and points on the league standings, this clash has the makings of a title decider. There are just four games to go, and Atletico are top of the table – 2 points above Barcelona, who are in third place.
Should Barca prevail on Saturday, they’ll leapfrog their rivals Real Madrid and Atletico into first place – at least for a day. But they’re facing an Atletico Madrid side that they’ve failed to beat in their last three meetings.
Both sides come into this game off the back of wins in their last league outings. Barca came from a goal down to beat Valencia 3–2, while Atletico edged Elche 1–0. It’s a really tight race at the top and with hostilities already at business end, no team will want to slip up.
Braithwaite, Ansu Fati and Coutinho are all sidelined with injuries and so will be absent for Barcelona.
Meanwhile, aside Lodi Renanz who’s absent for Atletico, Diego Simeone has a squad at full strength to choose from.
Plenty at stake here and no team will want to fall behind in the title race, so this promises to be an intense encounter.
Barcelona have been conceding quite a lot in recent weeks despite attacking well. Atletico should be good enough to exploit their host’s defensive weaknesses and score a goal or more. Barca too should be good enough to get on the scoresheet.
You can back both teams to score in this one.
